“Partnerships, including protected area–tourism partnerships, have been the subject of intense scrutiny by researchers and practitioners alike for the last decade. As part of the “corporatist model” focused on perceived efficiency gains and a reduction in reliance on public funding, the private sector has become a popular partner, especially with governments of countries like the UnitedKingdom, Australia, NewZealand, Canada and the United States. Collaborations with other stakeholders, such as community members, conservation non-government organizations and others with indigenous and environmental interests, are also now central to current approaches to strategic planning (Hall, 1999)". Fonte: Os Autores
